Our actual wedding ceremony and reception are slated to be small and intimate, consisting only of our immediate families and closest friends. We have chosen to hold our wedding along the northern bank of my beloved Lake Merritt in Oakland, California.
The Japanese Gardens at Lake Merritt
666 Bellevue Avenue
The Gardens at Lake Merritt, a seven-acre collection of themed gardens, is conveniently located in the heart of Oakland at Lakeside Park, our nation’s first wildlife refuge. The Japanese Gardens are meant to create serenity. Visitors stepping through the gate are enveloped by the visual experience of the flowers, plans, and the soft sound of the waterfall.
The Lakeside Park Garden Center

Guests of the Lakeside Park Garden Center and Lakeside Park will experience grassy knolls, a small beach area of Lake Merritt, a magnificent columned and marbled bandstand, and beautiful botanical gardens.
